The College of Arts and Media at University of Colorado at Denver is a growing program that was
moved into a smaller space in with a limited budget to remodel. The college wanted to create a
high-tech, signature space that would immediately engage visitors in the creative environment that
would allow for observation of student and staff areas.
The solution created for this was a "visitors interactive path of discovery", which begins
immediately upon exiting the elevator into a high tech lobby, with a wall curved towards the visitor
and LED lighting inside glass portals that create a sense of tension.
After moving through an opening in the wall, visitors are welcomed into an informal creative work
environment where teacher and student artwork can be viewed at various stages of completion.
- Created "floating" sound floor through 4 inch raised kinetics
- Interactive tour ends in a conference room where all aspects of the experience merge
- Natural light and views of Denver and the mountains are integrated into the experience
